Thought of the Day: Words can Often be a Cage


 

Much talking is the cause of danger. Silence is the means of avoiding misfortune. The talkative parrot is shut up in a cage. Other birds, without speech, fly freely about.

I love this quote. The world could use a lot more silent reflection.

Lately, people have forgotten that their words have consequences. Whether in person or on the internet, these words can slither back to haunt us. Long ago, I vowed to not say anything on the internet I would not say in person. In person, I am locked in a battle to be positive and not contribute to the nest of negativity that surrounds the world.

And it is a battle.
